*I wrote this poem in the Fall of my 1st grade year in response to the Gulf War. I even appeared on the CBS Evening News with Tom Brokaw (for a split second) performing the poem at a school assembly. I found it while rummaging through my room a little while ago.*
What Peace Means to Me
Peace is loving, sharing and caring
Peace is the birds in the sky
Peace is justice on which we speak
Peace is Martin Luther King's Dream and Death
Peace is prayer for them all
Peace is our pledge we do every morning
Peace is hope of no war.
Peace is my family, friends and more
Peace is freedom
