The good and the bad

He was EVERYTHING yet He was humble, and I am nothing, so humility shouldn't be a problem for me right? Wrong! Pride comes a lot easier than humility. I think much of it comes from listening to what people around us instead of us listening to God has to say about what's going on around us. We should form our opinions around God's opinions.

Ok, bad stuff first:

When I got back to my dorm tonight, I smelled cigarette smoke on my hall. I'm a little salty about that and it just makes me want to get the heck out of Perry that much faster. It's not even a bad night or anything, they really could have gone outside for that. Smoking is not a convenient habit. Non smokers usually don't care to be around people while they are smoking. Anyways, what sucks is that I can't figure out what room it is coming from, Oh well. After Saturday it will be someone else's problem, well that's what I want to say, but I know that is not the right attitude to have about it. It will be over soon though. Someone stole the counselor's door decs a few days ago, which made me kinda mad since I actually put time into them. I saw that Mya had recovered hers so I wondered where mine was and that's part of the Good News:

I was comin up the steps and out of the corner of my eye I saw a door covered with a lot of stuff, so I went onto the second floor and 214 had my name on it, along with other female counselors. I just walked up to it and took mine and Toya's. I'm glad I recovered it though. Also, Toya and I went to get a pedicure today. I'm so glad she invited me along. It was so cool. I'm totally going to start going regularly. The best part of today was spending much of it with my sweetie (who would be upset that I am awake now). We were going spend time together early this afternoon before his game, but I decided to get a pedicure so he had to wait for me for like 45 minutes or so. I think he was a little salty with me, but he covered it up while and recovered kinda quickly. When we were just about at North Lake mall, I noticed the skies were getting very dark, so I was like "OOO, maybe it will rain and your game will get cancelled!" He was like naw, it would have to rain now for that to happen. So we went to Bath and Body Works for a minute cause I had a gift certificate (no, just because I'm a girl, it doesn't mean I usually shop there, so don't get me a gift certificate to there because I will spend it on something I don't want). Well after Bath and Body works, I was time to eat before the game and we saw his teammate Joseph in the food court and he was like, did you see the rain? It was raining really hard. I was like cool. A few minutes later the rain got really loud and then a few minutes later, we got word of the game being cancelled, so we were like, Cool!. Then we got some pizza from Sbarro and sat with the group, but we had to eat quickly because some folk were talking about, "I can play in this weather! Call the people back." I was like ohhh no. So Seany and I walked around the mall. We got his necklace fixed and bought matching bracelets, well I guess you could say he bought mine for me. I bought I long silver rope chain and a cz cross that Seany picked out. He has a really good eye for things that look good on me I think and for things that I like. He doesn't think so though. When we finally left the mall, we decided to just roll up on the movie theater and see Anchorman or something, but we didn't know what time it played. Luckily we rolled up at 9:35 and it was playing for 9:45. We watched it. I thought it was funny enough I guess. My sides weren't splitting or anything so I felt it could have been funnier. I liked it though. I am glad Sean seemed to really enjoy it a lot. That's my sweetie. Well after that, I drove home and as I was on I-75, I leaned over to get my phone to make sure no on had called me and as I was looking at the display Mika called me, so I'm glad I picked up my phone. :) Now it's bed time for me. I have to get up all early tomorrow to work in the stupid housing office from 10:30am-1:30pm. That will suck. Oh well.

...bleh...

I do not like being the CA for Challenge anymore. As a matter of fact, I am pretty sure that I will not be doing this again. I don't like being a GT maid. The students are cool, but they are reminding me of middle school and high school. I guess I'm just mad because I'm just tired of my summer duties altogether. A few people's assignments are missing (as far as my records show). I've contacted people, so I'm just going to turn them in tomorrow afternoon. This is college and I refuse to chase anyone down anymore than I already have. I do hope in the fall that the students will be more assertive about their grades though, because they will count. This will all be over soon. Thank God.

Yeh, so here I am...back in Perry an empty room. Gabby cried again when I left this time. I feel bad for her because she will be bored until school starts and then school will have started and that will suck too. It was nice to have grandma around for a while, since I only see her like once a year. I miss my family though. I hung out with my little sister for almost a straight week. It was really cool. She's growing up so well. I'm really proud of her. It was fun having her on campus with me. This off to college thing sucks a little bit. I dont think I want to work for housing anymore. I'm tired of it now. I would almost rather spend money for room and board than share a room with someone and have to do paperwork and be asked questions about stuff all the time. I prefer jobs that end when you go home. Working for housing is 24/7. That's not to say that it's not fun because I like meeting the residents and hanging out sometimes, but the more school demands from me, the more I just want time to myself (or to Sean) to just chill and not be bothered with everyone else's problems. Maybe everything I'm saying is a result of my being overworked this summer. I decided not to work in WCHO for the fall semester because my days are already too scheduled out as it is with classes. I did, however sign up to be on duty staff, but I think it was a wise decision. Duty is not a 9 to 5. It may actually afford me the down time that I need (in between calls of course). The good thing about it is that it is NOT EVERY DAY. Man, I soooo do not want to go to work tomorrow. I really think I burned myself out with the whole thing. I am so sick of having to be places at certain times all the time. All this running around is not cool. I haven't even felt like starting my CS review or anything...even though I really need to. I don't know if I have the energy to do well on the final and keep my A in the course. I suppose I should though. Oh well, enough typing for me right now. ciao.

cs1315

Today's been cool. I went to CS and took the quiz. I think the pre-quiz portion was cool, but I wasn't able to fully answer part b of the first question. I'm not going to worry about it though. I wish everyone wasn't so upset about the pre-quiz situation, but I'm not going to sit here and glamorize CS1315 for Summer 2004. The lectures are mandatory but not completely necessary because all of the information is on the slides. It may just be me, but the slides, the books and the professor are all saying exactly the same thing. I don't feel like the lectures are supplementing my learning of the material. I don't do well with course content of this matter. I'm a STAC major who wants to be a teacher or psychologist, so I'll do my best, but I'm not going to treat my grade in this class like the end of the world. I am just very happy that I will not have to take CS 1321, which was my main concern when I started here at Tech.

for writing's sake

I'm really sleepy right about now. I was in the bed early though...well relatively early, but I wasn't able to go to sleep until my headache subsided. I finally broke down and took Motrin around 12:20am. Bright idea huh? I watched like a half hour of "In and Out." The parts I saw were funny. Joan Cusack is really good at playing someone homely.

Well it's back to fasting like normal today for me. No Sean, but I can eat now. :o) Honestly, I don't know which is harder...abstaining from food or Sean. They're both a drag, but the bright side of the food thing is that I can eat after 6pm. I can't see Sean all day or call him, but I am not trying to complain. I'm excited that we're doing this. I would like to be able to say that I rely on God more and call Sean to whine less. That's one of the desired outcomes. I think I'm getting better.

I'm at work right now. Getting here on Wednesday mornings at 8 is such a drag. I'm not a morning person at all. Now that I don't have Psychology anymore, I will have a huge break between 10:30am(when I get off work) and 4pm(when I come back to work). I think I will read for the day and then take a nap and then wake up and start my take home exam. I think that I will need an extension on the fire and life safety reports for housing, like maybe until Monday. I guess I'll send that email now. As I have said absolutely nothing of true importance in this journal, I'm ending it now. Sorry that you had to read it.

emotional

*I guess easyjournal decided to take the blaring advertisements away. I would subscribe to it, but I don't want to get used to having it. I could spend money on something else.*

***Sooo... Dad blessed me out last night about trying to leave town all early to go see Sean and his family (since I am hardly ever able to come home). Therefore, instead of coming back to ATL this morning, I decided to come back tonight. I got here around 9pm. The cherry on top of today was Sean driving to my house to come visit me and my family so I got to spend the day with people I love. That was cool, very cool...even though I was kind of bored. Sean's a sweetheart. I say it all the time, but I really mean it. I am so glad he came to visit. My parents liked him before, but they think he's great now and I think they were able to get a better view into his personality today as well. I don't know where our relationship is going, but God's been blessing us left and right separately and as a couple and I pray that He continues to do so because I care about Sean a lot. Being around him has shown me a lot about God. I think we complement each other pretty well. I'm also getting to know him a lot better now.

When I was about to hug Gabby to say goodbye, she started to cry and I started to cry too. She usually tries to hold it back, but when I was pulling out of the driveway, she started crying really hard. I really miss my Pikachu. I can't wait until she gets big enough to come visit me and hang out with me. I mean she could do that now, but I wouldn't feel right leaving her alone while I go to work. I am so grateful that God has given me two gorgeous sisters and my brother, Carlos. I love my family. Family is so important to me. I'm not going to allow myself to run off early anymore. Dad was right.

Well I'm very tired and I have a LOT to do, so I better end this now. There is so much I could say...but this IS an ONLINE journal. :)

In your eyes, Oh, I see the light and the heat. In your eyes, Oh, I want to be that complete. I want to touch the light, the heat I see in your eyes"

PuRiTy RiNg

I finally got my purity ring that I had been vigorously searching for for about a month. It has three stones to represent how God has taken care of me and kept me in the past, how he's keeping me and taking care of me in the present and (for the biggest middle stone) how he's got so much more in store for me in the future that is unseen...just as He is. Also, the three stone's represent the Holy Trinity: Father, Spirit and Son. 3-in-1. I like the ring a lot. The more I wear it the more that I like it. I guess I should be getting acquainted with is as best I can because I will be wearing it until I get engaged...and if I don't get engaged/married I may end up wearing it forever, but I don't want to think negatively like that. I really want a family of my own.

Speaking of family, I'm at home now with my mom dad sister(Gabby) and my aunt and cousin. Things are cool except that my aunt tends to be a little on the annoying side. I am just mature enough now that I don't allow myself to get upset because I know that she means well and is just being herself and I love her anyway and I'm glad she came to visit us. I'm leaving tomorrow. I really wish I could stay for a week, but I am excited about getting back to school and working on English with the Challenge students. They're SOOO smart. It's awesome to be around them. They make me feel old though.

Hopefully when I get back to Atlanta tomorrow morning I can spend the day with Sean and his family. They are so sweet. I really like being around them. Is that weird? I just think they're cool and funny and they remind me of my own family regardless of the differences. Oh well, I'm tired of writing right now. I should be downstairs watching Finding Nemo with mommy, Gabby and my cousin (while waiting for Cicely to get here so I will have a partner in crime). I love my Gabby. She's so sweet and she's getting to be so big. I'm so happy that God has blessed me with two sisters by blood and so many other sisters that aren't related to me but I feel like they are. It's nice to have meaningful connections with people. But like I said, I am going now. I'll leave you with what's been stuck in my head...
