An Audience of ONE

disclaimer: you don't have to know what i'm talking about, but i'm going to talk about it anyway. it's definitely not a poem... its just something going on in my head

I gotta hold on stay strong keep my eyes fixed on what's really going on... or maybe they've lost their focus looking to temporary gratification with a coveting gaze, but that's not supposed to be your issue. There is too much at stake for you get sucked back into what you were rescued from. Even when it's going on all around you, you must remember that you know what's real. I'm wanting a boyfriend again, but I won't go back on my word because I know that it was a Divine instruction. I'd forgotten what intimate neediness was like. I'm so poor, yet I continue to leave God on the shelf that I've created for him in my life and what's worse, I know He whispers to me daily. When will I stop being hedonistic in everything in my life that doesn't matter? Don't you know spiritual uprootedness yields superficiality and meaninglessness and tomorrow is not promised? Little girl let's get grounded before it's too late. If all you do before you die is decide in your heart to jump back on board with Jesus it would be much better than what's going on right now in your life: nothing. How can your friends look to you if you're drowning in your own life experiences with your back turned to a God that empathizes... the only One? Dare settle for less-than interactions with less-than godly men, with less-than godly intentions and goals, oblivious to their true purpose? I mean, do you have time for that? You used to know that you didn't and what God was doing was all that mattered or at least you were striving to be at that point. God blessed you once with so much more than that, but He also took it away... You search for contentment by turning your back on the only One who can give you peace... until then you will always search, insecure in yourself, your life... waiting to be loved first... living for others instead of an audience of One.
