My friend and I were talking about being third wheels today. She said that when there are three people, one person is inevitably third wheel. I was like nahhh. I think it's possible to include everyone who is involved in a small group of people, especially if an effort is made to do so.
Yes, that's me... the optimist. Boy did I get slapped in the face tonight.
I went to a probate with two of the new students in my program. They are in the same sorority and I usually feel ostracized when I'm around them... not that they mean to. I don't know why I decided I'd go to the probate, but I did. Well I know why I wanted to go, I had never been to a probate show for a multicultural greek organization. I figured it would be a lot of the same stuff I usually see, but why not check it out?
After being around my two new friends and feeling kinda left out, I fell back to stand with my boss and one of my other supervisors, both greek, different organization. Well, that also proved to be the wrong move. I was totally not apart of their conversation, and once I began to check my email and myspace on my phone, I made the executive decision to get the hell out of there (mind you, the show hasn't started yet). I got on the phone to call my homegirl, stepped outside to talk (loud inside with music playing) and kept it moving back to my car. Thank God I had driven myself or I would have been stuck. I hope they don't ask me about the show tomorrow and what I thought. I guess I will just say that I had to leave.
